His presentation will provide a visual tour of various types of art found in sacred spaces such as religious buildings and cemeteries including religious architecture, stained glass windows, statuary, murals, and mosaics. He will also discuss how this art reflects the beliefs of the people who provided and maintain the art, as well as how it can still speak to us today.
D.Lee Beard is the producer of the PBS film Stained Glass Windows of the Shenandoah Valley and is currently working on a film project documenting how gravestones have changed over the centuries reflecting changes in society.
